These two are super red plakats. Their lineage is traced back to show winning super reds. Solid colored bettas are becoming more and more rare due to the genetically dominant marbling gene. All of the multi-colored, koi, candy, galaxy, and so on, have the marbling gene. Many seemingly solid colored bettas have the marbling gene which will be expressed in offspring when bred. I love the marbling gene, it creates beautiful color combinations and unique patterning. However, I love solid colors equally as much and I am afraid that the marbling gene will take over betta genetics. Clifford has AMAZING form. From the moment I saw him, I had to have him in my spawning program. Passing on quality genetics is one of my goals. I purchased Twizzy and her sister as juveniles. Twizzy is my first choice as a mate for Clifford.
